Home Science Tools Hosts Service Day at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter

Jul 21, 2022

Recently, Home Science Tools organized a community service day for employees to serve the local community at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings, Montana. The team rolled up their sleeves to pitch in on several of the animal shelter’s ongoing projects. Home Science Tools CEO Frank Schaner says, “The animal shelter does such great work and I’m glad we could give back.”

Home Science Tools did a donation drive for Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter to provide additional support for the shelter. Employees generously collected funds, pet toys, and supplies for the shelter’s ongoing needs. Volunteers delivered donations collected at the beginning of the service day.

With limited staff and budget, the animal shelter relies on volunteers to keep up with the many projects they have going on. Home Science Tools team members helped with several projects including upkeeping the ground’s landscape, organizing donations, and socializing cats. Riley, the volunteer and foster coordinator said, “Volunteers are super important for our ability to do all the things we do. You guys made a real impact today.”

One of the projects the Home Science Tools volunteers worked on was organizing dog and cat food for community members in need. Pet food that Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter donates to the community provides support for pet owners to continue to care for their pets when they fall in tough times. At the end of the service day, volunteers got to visit with and help socialize some of the cats, dogs, and even a chicken waiting to be adopted by their forever homes.
