Home Science Tools Builds Stomp Rockets with Meadowlark Elementary

May 12, 2022

Recently, over 60 students at Meadowlark Elementary got to blast off with stomp rockets. Students discovered how force and motion are closely connected while being introduced to foundational physics concepts.

As the school year comes to a close, Home Science Tools wanted to offer an engaging, hands-on, science experience to the kindergarten classes at Meadowlark Elementary. HST Founder and CEO, Frank Schaner states, “Being part of the community to inspire local kids is why I love what we do.”

Product Developer, Stacy Craft, M.A. used her background in special education to create an inclusive learning experience for the kindergarten classes. Students were able to ask questions to experienced science educators to learn how and why the stomp bottle rockets worked. After the experience, Stacy says, “It is really special anytime I get to see the benefit from the work I’m doing .”

Stomp rockets are one of the many hands-on projects included in theScience Unlocked, Wonder Level Curriculum kit,“Blast Off.”Science Unlocked is a thoughtfully designed phenomenon-based learning curriculum made up of month-long learning kits. Wonder Level kits expose early elementary learners to basic science concepts. The stomp rockets provided the kindergarteners at Meadowlark Elementary a fun way to discover real science in action.
